What Is the Galant Reflex? 👶🧠
The Galant reflex is a primitive reflex seen in newborns and young infants. It is triggered when one side of a baby’s back is gently stroked, causing the baby’s body to curve toward that side.
As a child develops, primitive reflexes typically integrate naturally. If a reflex persists longer than expected, it may sometimes be associated with difficulties in posture, coordination, balance, or motor development and may benefit from professional assessment.
