Speech development is essential for a child’s growth, impacting how they express emotions and interact with their surroundings. While children develop at different rates.
Birth to 6 months: The babies start making sounds, responding to the noise they hear.
6 to 12 months: Babbling starts as babies start playing with their sounds and imitating voices that they often hear, sometimes even mastering simple words like "no" or even catching their name.
12-18 months: First words to familiar objects and people emerge with instructions following them.
18-24 months: Vocabulary increases from about 50 to 200 words with simple two-word phrases, like "more juice," starting to be used.
2-3 years: Language becomes more intelligible, short sentences are built up like "I want cookie," and simple questions are followed.
3 to 4 years: They will have extended and complex sentences in which they will ask "why?"
4 to 5 years: Their conversation will be more enhanced in such a way that most of their sounds are correct, although there might still be trouble producing "r" and "th" sounds. #SpeechTherapy#ChildDevelopment#SpeechLanguagePathology#SpeechTherapyForKids#DevelopmentalTherapy#ChildSpeechTherapy#EarlyIntervention#OriginCdc#Originchilddevelopmentcenter
